The Brief
Tripadvisor wanted to make the most of its partnership with Warner Music at SXSW Sydney—with original video and photography baked into the plan. Beyond that, the brief was pretty open. The challenge was to create something that felt energetic, on-brand, and genuinely useful.
What We Did
With a lot of creative freedom, we leaned into what made this partnership unique: Warner’s artists, local insights, and Tripadvisor’s trusted travel content. The idea was to blend all three into something fun and engaging—content that felt fresh, useful, and maybe even a little cooler than people usually expect from Tripadvisor.
We put together a full content package that went beyond the original ask. That included travel tips for Tripadvisor’s core audience, plus more youth-focused, local-flavoured content that would speak to Warner’s fans.
To bring it all together, we built a custom content hub. It showcased the videos, linked out to travel recommendations, and made it easy for users to explore and book. We gave the hub a distinct visual style and made sure video was front and center—it was the main way we grabbed attention.
Over four packed days on the ground, we produced:
- 5 social videos
- 4 articles
- 1 content hub
- and bunch of photographs
We shared the content across social media, editorial channels, and dedicated email. On top of that, we saved around $28.5k USD in production costs through smart planning and efficient in-house execution.
The Outcome
This project became a standout example of what can be done with creativity, a small budget, and the right collaborators. It’s now used across Tripadvisor as a case study to show what’s possible—proof that you don’t need a massive spend to deliver work that’s fresh, useful, and makes an impact.
